• Were Claude's Weekly Limits Cut in Half? (and obscured by another 50% "deal"?)
    hn-ai· 02-sept

The "50% higher" capacity through August 31 ended last night. Until then, 100% use of a 5-hour session would use 10% of my weekly capacity. Today, there's a new "50% higher" capacity message through September 13. But I'm burning capacity at 2x the rate. 100% of a 5-hour session is now using 20% of my weekly capacity, not 10%. • Show HN: 1Dial, an AI you can call/Text to get real-world tasks done
    hn-ai· 02-sept

I built 1Dial because LLMs have become great at telling you what to do, but I still find myself making calls, waiting on hold, finding appointments, getting quotes, etc. With 1Dial, you call or text one number and tell it what you need. It can search, call businesses, follow up and coordinate the task. We've processed about 100+ tasks in our early beta so far. 81% were completed better than what a human would have done. You can try it at 1-844-440-3463 (Call or Text). Would particularly love feedback on where this breaks and whether you'd trust something like this, when and for what you want to use this.
I was poking around in my
~/.cache/
folder using OmniDiskSweeper when I spotted something interesting. The OpenAI Codex desktop app (since rebranded to just ChatGPT) has 1.7GB of stuff in there in a folder called
codex-primary-runtime
, including a full Python installation, a full Node.js installation, and native binaries for Poppler, git, and the LibreOffice open source office suite (which forked from OpenOffice.org in 2010):

<img alt="Screenshot of a macOS disk usage app window in column view, titled "/Users…
