On macOS 15+ arm64, ordinary LLVM-tier executables use scriptc's bundled helper and precompiled runtime pack; clang is only the platform linker driver and does not compile program or runtime C. Static builds include a small native runtime, but no Node or JavaScript engine. Code that cannot compile statically is reported as a diagnostic. - Show HN: FAB – A benchmark for AI agents doing financial due diligence
hn-ai· 28-sept
The world economy around us depends on complex financial work. How well can AI do it? We(a team of ex-EY employees) built FAB - Finance Agents Benchmark, testing AI Agents on the work behind financial due diligence. Agents can find the relevant facts, but still struggle to carry them through to a complete, reliable analysis. We’ll keep expanding FAB to more companies and testing more models. Building and running this benchmark isn’t cheap, so we’re scaling it in stages. The benchmark is public. - Ask HN: Do you think AI agents can escape human control?
hn-ai· 28-sept
With the rapid adoption of autonomous LLM-based agents (giving models access to shell execution, API calls, and local file systems), the boundary between intentional behavior and unintended execution is blurring. I'm less concerned with sci-fi "sentience" and more interested in the practical security and control aspects: Prompt injection causing privilege escalation or unauthorized state changes. Feedback loops where an agent overrides safety boundaries to satisfy an optimization goal. Failure of sandboxing when agents are given multi-step execution autonomy without human-in-the-loop validation. From an engineering and systems perspective: do you consider runtime containment/sandboxing practically solvable for fully autonomous agents, or will human approval at critical checkpoints remain …
